The Stenograph


1879

Invented by Miles Bartolomew in 1879 and later manufactured by the United States Stenograph Company. This machine printed in shorthand code and was capable of printing up to thirty-one different characters. Inking was by ribbon and paper supply was a roll about 3/8" wide.
